Building new ventures through research, experimentation, and execution.
At M13’s Launchpad, I worked across early stage incubation, research, and portfolio operations to identify and build new venture concepts. Our team explored speculative, forward-thinking areas, from consumer shopping discovery and women’s circadian health to AI-enabled music production tools, auto retail tech, and even residential solar panel insurance. As one of the core members of a small, high-velocity team, my work spanned concept validation, operational planning, and direct support for our studio-backed startups.
The most unique, gratifying aspect of Launchpad was its innate symmetry — we were a startup that builds other startups, constantly testing ideas and frameworks to gain traction in the same way our founders did.
Working at the intersection of operator and investor taught me how to balance conviction with a healthy degree of skepticism. Tell a compelling story about what could be while grounding it in data and proof points. It strengthened my instincts for pattern recognition, sharpened my storytelling, and deepened my empathy for founders navigating uncertainty. Launchpad was the perfect environment to flex both sides of my brain, the creative and the analytical, while learning what it takes to transform raw ideas into real companies.
